New hardware form factors explained

Hey guys,

A few days ago we released some new systems and these system are now available for sale.  We have changed all of our consumer hardware to mini form factor PC's similar to the BriQ A-500 system.  Some have asked us why we did that.  Well we did it for a few reasons.  First, the settop box approach is what people wanted.  The desktop PC, the traditional tower, is still just as good as any system but as home computing moves more from the home office and the bedroom to the living room which means HDMI output is a necessity, which means it has to fit into the decor of the living room and we have moved our mini PC's away from wires.  Wireless keyboards and mice, to wireless adapters the mini PC's are all wireless.  This is for people who want to move the remote to the side and pick up their keyboards and use that.

The tower form factor is not going away, we have many products in our commercial line that use the tower form factor.  Power users and professional alike love tower systems because they can upgrade the technology inside.  Add high end graphics cards, add new sound cards upgrade RAM and sound cards.  We fully understand that and we will continue to allow people to do just that.  As computing advances, there will be more form factors introduced and people will want that vs whats available today.

So we will keep working with different form factors, and manufacturers, to continue and bring you what you want and where the market is trending.  So visit the OpenSystems Marketplace

Let us know what you would like to see.

Thanks
